In functional and preventative care, insurance coverage can be inconsistent—especially for more advanced testing and personalized programs. This can sometimes lead to unexpected and often significantly higher out-of-pocket costs. At Optim8, we’ve chosen a different approach. By operating as a cash-based practice, we’re able to prioritize your care—not insurance limitations. This allows us to recommend the right testing, spend more time with you, and create a plan that’s truly personalized to your needs. We also believe that transparency matters. Our pricing is clear and upfront, and we offer cash discounts, memberships, and multi-session packages to make care more accessible and cost-effective over time.
If you’re looking for clarity, structure, and a plan built around you—not a system—we invite you to start with the Optim8 30-Day Health Reset.
Often we can accommodate you on this request. In order to best accommodate you please call or text the front desk at 972-942-4039
Yes, we offer GLP-1 and microdosing GLP-1 programs at Optim8 Health & Wellness. GLP-1 is prescription medication and is determined and approved if appropriate by our Nurse Practitioner. What makes our approach different is that we don’t rely on medication alone—we combine it with functional testing, nutrition, and personalized support to create sustainable results.
Yes we offere microdosing GLP-1 if you are approved as a candidate. Microdosing GLP-1 uses lower, more strategic dosing to reduce side effects while still supporting weight loss. We offer customized protocols based on your body, goals, and response to treatment.
Yes, absolutely we can help you if you are not losing weight on GLP-1. Weight loss resistance on GLP-1 is often due to underlying issues like hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, or metabolic dysfunction. At Optim8 Health and Wellness, we identify and address these root causes so your body can respond more effectively.
Most clinics focus on medication alone or provide limited time and support. We take a comprehensive customized approach—combining what is appropriate for you whether this GLP-1, functional testing, hormone analysis, customized nutrition, supplementation, and or body sculpting to support long-term success.
Yes we help reduce side effects of GLP-1. Side effects like nausea are often a sign your body needs more support. We use nutrition, supplementation, and dosing strategies (including microdosing) to improve tolerance and results.
Yes we help with hormone related weight gain. Hormones play a major role in weight gain and weight loss resistance. We evaluate and address imbalances as part of your personalized plan.
New research is emerging with studies showing GLP-1 to benefit the brain, reduce neuroinflammation, boost brain neurons, improve heart health reducing risk of heart attack and stroke, improve blood pressure, improve insulin resistance, reduce visceral fat, improve kidney health, improve rheumatoid arthritis and overall inflammation and immune function. Working with us to ensure you are eligible and have the proper support throughout your experience with GLP-1 is important to us.
If it is time for you to have bloodwork, please wait and have done in our office so we can determine what labs need to be run.
We specialize in hormones and we are very proud of how comprehensive we are with hormones. We offer strategic HRT and we offer natural hormones support as well. Many women are put on hormones because of their age without accurate lab work to determine their need and their dosage and whether or not they metabolize them correctly.
Yes, we are currently accepting new patients daily Monday through Friday with some evening and Saturday availability. Each practitioner has different availability and it is best to call or text or visit our schedule appointment to see what is available.
The hardest part is often knowing where to start. At Optim8 Health & Wellness, we designed the Optim8 30-Day Health Reset as a structured entry point to help patients:
• understand what is happening in their body • identify testing plan for root cause strategies • build a clear plan forward
Instead of guessing, you start with clarity.
Yes we offer both functional medicine and integrative medicine. Integrative medicine combines conventional diagnostic medical treatment with holistic and complementary strategies. While the two fields often overlap, functional medicine typically emphasizes: systemic health, root-cause analysis, personalized treatment strategies.
Many patients benefit from approaches that combine the strengths of both models.
Functional medicine works best when three things are present: 1. The right strategy: Testing and treatment should follow a clear strategic framework that aligns with patient symptoms and health goals. 2. Patient support and guidance to improve participation: Lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and stress patterns influence outcomes and patients need quality relationships and strategic strategies to improve their understanding and efforts. 3. Realistic timelines: Many chronic conditions develop over years, so restoring balance takes time. When these elements are aligned, functional medicine can produce meaningful improvements in health. When they are not, patients may feel like they are trying many things without a clear direction. At Optim8 Health and Wellness, we prioritize structured care plans instead of scattered recommendations.
Functional medicine appointments are typically longer and involve deeper investigation than conventional visits. Functional medicine practices are also typically using tests that are often denied by insurance even if filed with insurance and visits are longer and more involved and therefore are insurance independent which allows more time with patients but means clinics operate outside the insurance reimbursement model.
Functional medicine can fall short when care becomes overly complicated or lacks structure. Common challenges include: ordering too many tests without clear purpose, overwhelming patients with supplements that have no clear purpose or timeline for taking them, failing to prioritize the strategies and create a timeline for balance. The most effective functional medicine practices focus on clarity, prioritization, and patient education. Patients should leave appointments understanding what is happening and what comes next. Patients should understand the timeline on their supplements with the ultimate goal of less supplements and less testing than their initial crisis phase.

Customized to us means it works within your means. Our Optim8 30 Day Health Reset is a great starting point.
Traditional care is designed to diagnose disease and prescribe medication. Functional medicine is designed to ask deeper questions like: Why is the body out of balance? What systems are contributing to symptoms? What can be restored instead of suppressed? When done correctly, functional medicine can help. At Optim8 Health & Wellness, our goal is not to keep you dependent on a clinic forever. Our goal is to give you answers, structure, and a clear plan so you can move forward with confidence. For patients who have spent years searching for solutions, that clarity alone is often worth it.
Many conventional visits last about 12-15 minutes. Functional medicine requires deeper investigation. A good practice takes the time to understand your history, lifestyle, labs, and patterns–not just call themselves functional because they run a functional test or recommend a supplement protocol. Be cautious of practices that rely heavily on supplements without clear reasoning or a protocol that comes from the supplement company. A strong practitioner should be able to explain: Why a test is being ordered. What information it will provide. How they use it to create a strategy for you. Functional testing is only as good as the interpretation of the data AND the connection they made with you, not just your symptoms but what they learned about you when they created the plan to begin with.
Functional medicine can produce remarkable results, but it can also fail when the approach lacks structure. The most common reasons include: Too many tests without a personalized strategy. Functional tests should answer specific questions the practitioner is looking for and they should be able to tell you this. Over-reliance on supplements. Supplements can be powerful tools, but they should support a larger strategy that includes lifestyle, nutrition, hormones, inflammation, and metabolic health. Lack of patient support available to individuals. Real healing requires going above data, it requires guidance, accountability and adjustments over time–so that where you start is not where you end.
There are hundreds of functional medicine tests available, but only a handful are consistently useful. The tests that tend to provide the most meaningful insight include: Advanced Blood, Plasma and Urine Chemistry: Comprehensive bloodwork can reveal patterns involving inflammation, metabolic health, nutrient deficiencies, thyroid and or mitochondrial health, and hormones. Often this information is already available through standard laboratory testing but interpreted differently. Hormone Testing: Hormone patterns can significantly affect: weight, energy, sleep, mood, metabolism/ Understanding these patterns helps guide targeted treatment strategies. Gut and Microbiome Testing (when appropriate): Digestive health affects many systems in the body including immunity, brain function, and inflammation. However, ALL Functional tests should be used selectively and interpreted carefully. Genetic and Epigenetic Insights: Genomic information can sometimes help explain: detoxification capacity, neurotransmitter patterns, hormone metabolism. They should NOT be used diagnostically. At Optim8, testing is used to answer specific clinical questions, not to overwhelm patients with unnecessary data. The goal is always clarity, not complexity.
The timeline depends on the condition and how long symptoms have been present. Some patients begin noticing improvements within weeks, particularly with digestion, sleep, or specific inflammation-related symptoms. More complex conditions involving hormones, immune function, or long-standing health patterns may take several months to improve. The goal of functional medicine is not temporary symptom relief but restoring balance within the body’s systems, which can take time but often leads to more sustainable results. Here at Optim8 Health and Wellness you are part of the plan and we work with patients to get them out of their health crisis and position them for maintenance to avoid a return to the crisis. Our success at Optim8 Health and Wellness is determined by how little you need us.
Our Nurse Practitioner, is here to help you navigate your prescriptions and work toward a safe transition if applicable to your health.
Yes we recommend and offer peptide therapy. Peptides are targeted chains of amino acids that help regulate key functions in the body, including metabolism, recovery, and cellular signaling. Some are available as high-quality supplements or sublingual peptides, while others are more advanced peptide therapies that require medical evaluation and are administered via injection, compounded prescription or IV support.
Yes, we offer exosomes—cell-derived signaling particles that support cellular repair, regeneration, and overall tissue health. They are often used for skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, and to support recovery and healing. Some forms are available without a prescription, while others require medical evaluation and provider approval.
